We are a well-established osteopathic practice. We aim to provide a high standard of care and treatment with efficiency and professionalism.

Resuming practice under Covid-19

In preparation of a return to "face to face" practice at the Newmarket Osteopathic Clinic, we have carried out a RISK ASSESSMENT of our premises and methods of practice in order to identify and reduce the possibility of inter-personal transmission of the Covid19 virus. This is in order to comply with Government guidelines and those of our professional governing body ( The General Osteopathic Council ) and we are satisfied that we have done as much as practicably possible to reduce this risk.

From our research, it would appear that the risk of infection in the East and South Cambridgeshire and West Suffolk regions is statistically lower than in other parts of the country. We feel that the risk of infection now is sufficiently low and are therefore happy to resume "face to face" consultations and treatment at the Newmarket Osteopathic Clinic in the next few weeks. This of course, as long as there are no "spikes" indicating escalating infection rates.

We propose to start seeing patients, at first on a limited basis, from Monday the 8th June. However, the following protocols will be in force:

  • 1. When booking an appointment, patients will be asked to confirm that they, or anyone living in their household, have not shown any of the known symptoms of Covid19 infection over the previous 2 weeks. If they have symptoms they will not be seen until the infection has passed.
  • 2. Appointments will be booked on an hourly basis to limit the chance of patients meeting in the waiting room and allow time to disinfect between appointments.
  • 3. On entering the practice, you will be asked to:
    • Remove your shoes
    • Have your temperature taken (if this is above "Normal", you will not be seen)
    • Maintain social distancing as far as possible
    • Use the available hand sanitiser or wash your hands.
  • 3. I will be wearing a face mask and plastic disposable apron but not gloves.
  • 4. Between patients, surfaces that have been in possible contact with the patient will be disinfected. These include flat surfaces, door and WC handles, banisters, chair arms, treatment couch etc.
  • 5. We will continue to receive payment with cheque or cash (Please endeavour to bring the exact amount if you do not want to receive change ). Alternatively, you can pay by Internet Bank Transfer (we will give you the account details).
Stephen Gold is amazing- a highly skilled practitioner who really knows his stuff- I cannot recommend him highly enough.
